I worked as an Editorial Designer and Assistant Art Director at Baltimore magazine, an award-winning regional publication in Baltimore, Maryland. The magazine focuses on representing smaller voices in the city and surrounding areas, emphasizing a clean and down-to-earth brand identity. My responsibilities included designing various sections of the magazine each month, from front-of-the-book content to features and Local Flavor. I aimed to highlight each story's subject by using bright and colorful visuals. My tenure at the magazine spanned from September 2018 to February 2020 as an Editorial Designer and then from February 2020 to June 2021 as an Assistant Art Director.
Features
From cover stories to travel features and real estate, some of my many duties as the Assistant Art Director included directing photography and designing features, as well as translating some of these works from print to the web.

Infographics and Other Pages
Part of the fun of working with Baltimore is quite simply how creative I needed to be with the space I am allotted. Unlike features, I don't get 6-12 pages to design a whole package! However, the limitations made the journey to these designs interesting: I spent as much time as my other responsibilities would allow sketching potential layouts and researching inspiration.
